Frequently asked questions

How does iCloud sync work?

Recipz uses SwiftData with CloudKit to sync your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists across Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account.

Your data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. Sync may take a moment to appear on other devices — "Last updated from iCloud" in Settings reflects when changes merged from another device.

What are notifications used for?

Recipz only sends notifications when a meal plan is about to finish — a gentle nudge to create your next plan so you're ready for the week ahead. We do not send marketing or promotional notifications.

How does Premium work?

Recipz Premium is an annual subscription managed through Apple's App Store. Premium unlocks unlimited recipes and household sharing via iCloud.

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or from the Manage subscription option in Recipz Settings.

How does household sharing work?

With Recipz Premium, you can invite your partner or family to share recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists through iCloud. Sharing is initiated by you — Recipz does not access contacts without your action.

What is included in the free version?

The free version includes up to 14 saved recipes, along with meal planning and grocery list features. Premium removes the recipe limit and adds household sharing.

Troubleshooting tips

Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on all devices. Allow notifications if you want meal-plan reminders. If sync seems slow, give it a few minutes — your own edits can take a little time to appear on other devices.

If problems persist, email us at support@recipz.app with your device model, iOS version, and a description of the issue.
