Privacy Policy
Recipz is built to be a calm, personal kitchen companion. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
Introduction
Recipz ("we", "our", or "the app") is a recipe, meal planning, and grocery list app for Apple devices. The data controller for Recipz is Recipz.
We designed Recipz to keep your kitchen data on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate a separate Recipz account system and we do not sell your personal information.
Data we collect
Recipz stores the information you enter in the app, including:
- Recipes, ingredients, and quantities
- Meal plans and scheduled meals
- Grocery lists and shopping items
- Store or market organization preferences
If you subscribe to Recipz Premium, Apple processes your payment. Recipz receives subscription status through Apple's StoreKit to unlock Premium features — we do not receive your payment card details.
Data we do not collect
Recipz does not:
- Send your data to third-party analytics services
- Use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers
- Require a separate Recipz login or account
- Collect data for marketing purposes
How data is stored
Your recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists are stored on your device. When iCloud is enabled, Recipz uses SwiftData with CloudKit to sync data across your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account.
Your data remains in your personal iCloud account, subject to Apple's privacy practices. Recipz does not maintain its own copy of your data on external servers beyond what Apple provides through iCloud sync.
Household sharing
Recipz Premium allows you to share recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists with others through iCloud. Sharing is initiated by you. Data shared with household members is transmitted through Apple's iCloud infrastructure.
Notifications
Recipz may schedule local notifications to remind you when a meal plan is about to end. Notifications are optional and can be disabled in iOS Settings. We do not send marketing push notifications.
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles billing, payment information, and subscription management. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes payment data.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only sharing of your data occurs when you explicitly choose to share with household members via iCloud (Premium), or as required by law.
Your rights
You can delete your Recipz data by deleting the app from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, you may also manage or delete iCloud data associated with Recipz through your Apple ID and iCloud settings.

Children
Recipz is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Recipz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
